Dachshund is a small dog breed with extra small legs. It has it origin in Germany. Dachshund means badger dog. This dog is bred to scent, chase and flush out badgers.
Dachshund come in a number of colours which range from Black, Red & tan. These can have short hair or can be very fury. Height of Dachshund varies from 5-7 inch and length varies from 8 - 11 inch. This breed is very energetic and playful. It has moderate friendliness towards strangers but is quite friendly towards other dogs. It has good adaptability towards cold & heat.
Dachshund has good site & sniffing ability. However, without a proper training, the dog can be a jealous and obstinate and can be quick to bite. With a good training, the dog can be wonderful. The unique looks of the dog are appreciated by alot of Dog Lovers.
